Blocked Drain And Drain Problems

Using a pipe camera is a highly efficient and cost-effective way to locate stormwater pipes damage

Recently, the owner of a property in South Arm complained of having to continuously buy water to fill their water tanks and a water-logged section of ground in their yard every time it rained. With the help of a pipe camera, one of the most effective devices for locating damage to stormwater pipes. A pipe camera is a small video camera on the end of a cable that can feed through a drain pipe to find damaged sections. We quickly discovered that the stormwater pipe had been damaged and had a big hole in the line, letting the rainwater escape and leach into the soil, not into the rainwater tanks. We accurately located the head of the drain camera from above ground and found the position of the damaged section of the pipe to be uncovered and repaired.

Using a pipe camera is a highly efficient and cost-effective way to locate stormwater pipes damage. With a short excavation, we uncovered the line, cut out the damaged section, and replaced it with a new piece of PVC pipe. Hobart Drain Cleaning

Recently we attended a blocked drain in Lauderdale. The owner, who was out of the country, was distraught that the drain had blocked up the morning she had left and that a house sitter was due to arrive the next day. With an email from the owner giving us all the details, we could unblock the drain immediately, so the house sitter had a fully functioning toilet when they arrived. After we had unblocked the drain, we relayed back to the owner an in-pipe video and photos of the drain cleared and flowing freely. If you have a blocked drain, we can be contacted by email, phone or text message at any time. All information is available on our website http://kingplumbing.com.au/

How To Find a Drain Inspection Opening

Recently we went to a blocked drain that was arguably not the owner's responsibility. Because an inspection opening was not accessible at the boundary, it was impossible to determine whether the blockage was the owner's or outside the property, becoming Taswater's responsibility.

In the case of a blocked drain, An  inspection opening easily accessible to the surface at your property boundary will assist you by;

determining whether a blocked drain is located on your property or outside the property in Taswater's infrastructure.

Unable to determine the location of the blockage by accessing the Inspection opening, the owner had to pay for the drain clean.

A sewer inspection opening or "IO" is typically identified by a  PVC round lid approximately 100mm in diameter. Usually found at the boundary's lowest point, on a bathroom drain inside the house, or at the base of a stack on multiple-story homes.

If you cannot locate your sewer inspection opening to the surface on your property, we recommend the following:

Contact King Plumbing to undertake a site inspection and drain camera inspection and locator.

If we cannot locate the "IO", we access Taswater's infrastructure drawings for your property to find your sewer connection.

Once we access Taswaters infrastructure drawings and the as-constructed drawings submitted to the council, we will locate the sewer connection point on your property and present you with options for having a sewer inspection opening to the surface installed.
